Klieve succeeds David Brown, Managing Director of IBN Scaffolding, who formally announced the handover at the AGM. Having served as Vice President since May 2024, Klieve now takes on the role of President for the next two years.

A respected figure within the scaffolding and access sector, Klieve brings more than 20 years’ industry experience to the role, having joined her family's scaffolding business in 2005 after a successful career in FMCG marketing. Over the past two decades, she has played a central role in the company's growth, overseeing training, quality, health, safety and environmental management, while also supporting major industrial clients.

Klieve joined NASC’s Council in 2018 as Chair of the Current Affairs Committee. Alongside serving as Vice President, she has also chaired the Public Affairs and ESG Committee and now leads the Membership Standards Committee.

Addressing members for the first time as President, Klieve spoke of her pride in representing an industry she has grown to love.

"I am really proud to stand here today as President of NASC. It's not a role I take on lightly. I might not come from a scaffolding background, but having been part of this industry for over 20 years, I love being part of it and will do my best over the next two years to represent it on behalf of all our members."

Klieve outlined a vision focused on raising the profile of the scaffolding sector, strengthening engagement with government, attracting the next generation into the profession and continuing to champion the industry's outstanding health and safety standards.

She described scaffolding as an industry that is often underestimated, despite the highly technical engineering solutions it delivers and its critical role across construction, industrial maintenance, offshore energy, pharmaceuticals, events and entertainment.

"It's an industry we can all be proud of. People don't always see the complex engineering solutions behind what we do or the vital role scaffolding plays in supporting so many other sectors," she said.

Looking ahead, Klieve said encouraging more people to view scaffolding as a long-term career would be one of her priorities.

"There are so many opportunities within our industry, not just on site but across the many supporting roles. We need to continue creating routes into scaffolding, particularly for younger people, so that becoming a scaffolder is seen as a career of choice."

She also committed to building on the work already underway to increase NASC's influence with policymakers and public bodies, ensuring the voice of the scaffolding sector continues to be heard on the national stage.

Paying tribute to the outgoing President, Klieve thanked David Brown for his leadership and acknowledged the work of NASC’s team and its committees in supporting members and driving the organisation forward through a period of significant change.
